Pregnancy is a very beautiful period in a woman’s life. However, it may bring with it discomfort and skin conditions that women are not very keen on. One such an issue is represented by stretch marks, which, once appeared, it is very difficult to get rid of. If you feel bad because of this, do not despair.
Many women share your feelings and concerns – you have the impression that your skin is deteriorating or you have irritations – but if you hydrate well your body and nourish the skin, there is still a possibility to solve the situation. You can reduce the stretch marks until they fade, even if they are hereditary and you can prevent them from appearing again, by protecting and taking care of your skin properly.
Stretch marks are nothing but scars resulted from a fast skin stretch, due to the fact that during the lengthening of the skin, the connective tissue is enlarged in the dermis (the middle layer of the skin). Eventually, the collagen breaks down and forms on the epidermis a scar, as the elasticity of the skin is reduced. Initially, the marks are red or pink, but in time the color fades and they remain white.
