Even there are a lot of medications for heartburn on the market, not all are good for you when you are pregnant. Here is a lost with some home remedies for heartburn during pregnancy.

  • Gaviscon

Before buying any medication you need to speak with your doctor or pharmacist. Gaviscon works by creating a thick coating over stomach that prevents any acid from rising up and cause the discomfort we know as heartburn. Gaviscon liquid formulation product are safe during pregnancy but tablets not. So try it out, and if you are still suffering from heartburn, go and see your doctor,which can  prescribe you other drugs that will help you get rid of it.

  • Simple changes

During pregnancy , most women think that they need to „eat for two” but it is actually not the case. It is better to eat little and healthy. When the stomach is full it is more likely to cause indigestion so this is a very good incentive to stick to smaller meals. It is a best way to get rid of heartburn quickly.

  • Healthy eating

You can keep a diary and put down what you eat or drink and at what times you suffer with heartburn. After a few days you can look back and try to find out what affects you. The most common list is : tea, coffee, carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, spicy to fatty foods, and unfortunately ,chocolate.  You have to eat healthy during pregnancy not only for keeping your weight gain within the recommended limits, but especially for your unborn baby’s healthy.
