Before following some remedies, it is very important to know how the high quantities of alcohol affect your system and what are the results.

  • It causes nausea, because alcohol produces stomach acid;
  • It leads to headaches or migraines due to expanded blood vessels;
  • It makes you feel thirsty due to dehydration;
  • You feel weak and tired because alcohol reduces the sugar in your body;

Natural remedies

Honey – is rich in fructose, a component that manages to reduce the hangover by metabolizing the alcohol in your system.

Consume up to 4 tbsp. of honey every hour to reduce the hangover. Alternatively, you can consume 1 cup of water mixed with 2 tbsp. of honey during the same day to obtain the same results.

Lemon – balances the Ph level and the blood sugar level, managing to relieve the hangover and reduce all the symptoms it implies.

Pour in a glass filled with fresh water 2 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice and 1 tbsp. of honey. Mix well and make sure you consume this remedy 2 or 3 times a day.

Egg and toast – is a healthy breakfast that will nourish your body with protein and cysteine and help it recover after the party you had last night.

Before consuming the breakfast, hydrate your body with 2 glasses of water, then eat 2 or 3 slices of toast with poached or scrambled eggs.

Coconut water – can hydrate your body and ensure the necessary amount of antioxidants and potassium; all in order to get rid of hangover.

All you need to do is drink several tbsp. of coconut water during the day. It will boost your system with energy and hydrate it intensely.

Tomato juice – is rich in minerals and vitamins, managing to help you combat the hangover.

Prepare some fresh tomato juice then add 1 tbsp. of honey and1 tbsp. of lemon juice. Drink this remedy twice: one glass in the morning and one in the evening.

Banana – is another rich source of potassium that will help your body recover after a hangover.

The day after the party consume 2 or 3 bananas or prepare a milkshake sweetened with honey instead of sugar. In addition, keep in mind that eating bananas on a daily basis will help you face the next day easier.

Peppermint – is rich in antioxidants and nutrients, relieving the nausea, anxiety or bloating that the hangover usually causes.

Prepare some tea by boiling 2 cups of water and 1 tbsp. of dried leaves for about 15 minutes. Consume the tea during the first part of the day. Alternatively, you can enjoy a warm and relaxing bath. All you need to do is pour several drops of peppermint oil in the tube and relax for about half an hour.

Ginger – is famous around the world for its properties and capacity of treating vomiting and nausea, two hangover symptoms.

You can consume ginger as such, every two hours or you can prepare some ginger tea. Boil 4 cups of water with 12 slices of ginger for 10 minutes, then mix the tea with 1 tbsp. of lemon juice, 1 cup of orange juice and 4 tbsp. of honey. Consume this remedy during the day.


Most of the people who have suffered a hangover say that they do not want to experience it again. They can do that only by following some tips and by changing a little their lifestyle.

  • Consume alcohol after you have eaten something consistent;
  • Always hydrate your body with water before consuming alcohol;
  • Consume foods rich in vitamins so that you replace those lost when drinking alcohol;
  • Avoid smoking while drinking alcohol. This awful combination will only make your stomach suffer;
  • If you drink alcohol, do not consume champagne. The bubbles in it will only favor the absorption of alcohol turning it into hangover;
  • Get some sleep; your body will fix itself;
  • If you like to combine juice with alcohol, opt for natural juices instead of sodas, as they contain vitamins that will prevent a possible hangover;
  • Never drink coffee when you have a hangover; it will only make it worse;
  • Refresh you mind by having a long walk in the nature; it will make you feel good;
  • Stay away from sweet foods or drinks when drinking alcohol.
